The State Quarter Program neared completion in 2007 with the next five designs in the series. Coins were issued to honor Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah. This year’s quarters featured a wide array of designs from the simple but striking design of the Wyoming Quarter to symbolic design of the Utah Quarter.

Montana State Quarter
The Montana Quarter was the forty first coin in the State Quarter series. It was released on January 29, 2007 and features a bison skull. This is a sacred symbol for many of Montana’s Indian tribes. The background features some Montana landscape.
Washington State Quarter
The Washington Quarter was the forty second coin in the State Quarter series. It was released on April 2, 2007 and features a leaping King Salmon. An active volcano called Mount Rainer is featured in the background. It is covered with more than 35 miles of snow and ice.
Idaho State Quarter
The Idaho Quarter was the forty third coin in the State Quarter series. It was released on June 4, 2007 and features the Peregrine Falcon. This was once an endangered species, but thanks to conservation efforts they can now be found throughout Idaho.
Wyoming State Quarter
The Wyoming Quarter was the forty fourth coin in the State Quarter series. It was released on September 3, 2007 and features the outline of a bucking horse. This was a very unique design amongst all the states since it only features an outline.
